Light Bites

Light Bites: vegetarian/raw food friendly gourmet cafe--all homemade with lots of love (Dunedin, FLA canvassed mermaid sits at the front window and local art work adorns the walls inside Light Bites, a small cafe in Dunedin, FL.  Open at 730 am, Monday through Friday, one may enter to the aroma of freshly baked banana muffins and wheat-free peanut butter oatmeal cookies.  Multigrain pancakes, the chefs secret recipe, is an example of a heavier morning offering.  Later in the day, sandwiches such as the Tree Frog (mushrooms, sprouts and three cheeses) and the Red Goat (goat cheese married with a beet and red onion slaw) are available as well as hors doeuvres like an olive tapenade blended with carrots and artichoke truffles rolled in chopped pecans and basil are available. Those practicing a vegan diet can enjoy freshly made gazpacho, (a cold soup of minced carrots, celery, cucumber, red pepper, tomato, and fresh spices), hummus  and vegetable curry.  A limited number of raw foods specials like corn cashew chowder, vanilla-sesame shakes and orange-cardamon date bars are on the menu too.
