Timber Course: Woodsman Apprenticeship

At Healing Harvest Forest Foundation, our mission is to address human needs for forest products whilst producing a nurturing and sustainable co-existence between the forest and human our community. 

We want to support community-based sustainable forestry initiatives - through the utilisation of animal-powered extraction of logs and “worst first” single tree selection of individual trees in timber harvesting.

We also offer classes and apprenticeship opportunities - one of our most popular Green Education one being our Biological Woodsman Apprenticeship. 

This is not only a class, it is an opportunity to feature qualified candidates who are interested in training to become practitioners of improvement, restorative forestry, using animal-powered extraction of logs, and worst-first selective timber harvesting.

This program includes Whole Forest Management Strategies, Chainsaw Safety, Special Forest Product Utilizations, Horsemanship, Farrier skills, Animal powered Skidding, Log and Lumber Grading, GIS, Small Business Management, and Worst-first Selective Timber Harvesting Plans.
