Green and Eco Friendly Cabinets

At Wells Woodworking Specialties, we believe that green or eco simply means products that are good for the planet and safe for your Home and your health.

In fact, to be good to the planet cabinets should be made of materials that are not only sustainable, but should be renewable or recycled. We believe that the lumber should be legally harvested - but should also legally exported and FSC Certified as well. The cabinets should be manufactured with care to minimize any form of unnecessary waste and pollution.

We also think that your household cabinets should to safe for your home and family. Chemicals like urea-formaldehyde are often used in products around the home and these includes things like plywood, particle board and glues used in most cabinetry. 

Also, the finishes on most cabinets will off-gas volatile hydrocarbons into your home - even for a long time after the cabinets are installed. Green cabinets contain no added urea-formaldehyde in the lumber or glues and the finishes contain no or very low VOC's.

Green or eco cabinets are increasing being made with renewable and salvaged or recycled materials. 

The material bamboo is becoming more and more popular as a cabinet choice. It features several obvious advantages - including incredible strength and extraordinary sustainability.
