Earth Friendly Farm

Here at Berry Creek Farm, we try to do our best to make life easier for Mother Earth.

We like to use only earth friendly fertilizers - like chicken fertilizer and definitely not fertilizer made from crude oil.

We also like to use earth friendly pesticides - like chrysanthemum juice and Neem tree oil. We also like to use BT - a naturally occurring bacteria that is pest specific.

We are known for our hard work around the farm as we use elbow grease, not chemicals when it comes to our plants.

In addition to treating the earth kindly, we do things that make life better for you as well.

Since 1900, over 95 percent of crop varieties have become extinct. The sad truth is, the loss of crop varieties will reduce our cultural and flavor diversity. This will make us vulnerable to crop devastation from a single insect, disease, or global weather change.

Also, many seeds currently used by farmers are hybrids - these seeds do not produce true to form. These seeds can cause many farmers to rely on seeds from only a few seed companies. 

The seeds used here at Berry Creek Farm are naturally occurring seeds and not corrupted by unsustainable energy requirements or scientific methods to create unnatural genetically modified organisms. 

We always strive to be sustainable by taking on the higher cost of earth friendly products and seeds whilst also paying our laborers a fair wage.
