DIY Natural Lipgloss

Here at Rosemary's Garden we love DIY Beauty recipes - especially all Natural Beauty items. That is because by making it yourself, it gives you full control and knowledge. You know exactly what is in it and what is not. Better yet, it's not only much cheaper, but it's also much better for your health and wellbeing. 

Our favourite recipe at the moment is our DIY lipgloss. To make this, it would only take you about half an hour and you'll end up with 10-20 lip glosses - depending on the size of he container you use. 

To do this, you'll need some Lip gloss containers and some Carrier oil and beeswax. You can also add things like Essential oils for scent, Vitamin E. for healing and natural colours if you want a slight tint - we recommend beetroot juice as it makes a fantastic lip stain.

The first step involves you to slowly heat about 1 oz. base oil to 1/4 oz. part beeswax in a pot. When all the ingredients have melted, dip the tip of a teaspoon in to the oil and beeswax mixture. 

The, take out the spoon, let it cool and test to see if the consistency is to your liking. Add more beeswax if you want it harder and more oil if you want it softer.

Add a few drops of essential oil or colouring to the melted mixture if you want a scent or stain to the lip glosses. Once you're happy with your result, use a potholder and carefully pour the melted mixture in to each of the lined up lip gloss containers.

Let your lipgloss cool at room temperature to harden. Once it's hardened, you have your very own lipgloss.
